Disaster
All American Red Cross disaster relief assistance is based on the premise that those affected by disasters are ultimately responsible for their own recovery. Disaster relief assistance will be provided in a uniform fashion using nation-wide standards.

All disaster assistance is provided free of charge as a gift from the American people. It is made possible by generous contributions of people's time, money and skills. Disaster relief focuses on meeting the immediate emergency needs of people affected by disaster. When a disaster threatens or strikes, the Red Cross provides shelter, food, clothes, health and mental health services to address basic human needs.

All assistance is given is based upon the individual's need due to the verified disaster.

If you have been affected by a disaster such as a house fire, flooding, tornado, etc., please contact the Northeast Louisiana Chapter immediately for assistance. Disaster Action Team Members are available to provide assistance 24-hours a day. The number to contact is 318-323-5141 or 888-323-5141.

To receive assistance, you must have the following items:

  • A copy of a fire report, if it is a house fire. If Red Cross representatives come to the scene, then a report is not required. All disasters must be verified at the time of the disaster.
  • Verification that you lived at the address that was damaged
  • Picture identificationBack to the top
